Description
BSW W625C (1st Variation) .22 LR Bolt-Action Training Rifle – Serial #167884
This BSW W625C (1st Variation) is a rare German bolt-action training rifle chambered in .22 Long Rifle, bearing serial number 167884. Manufactured by Berlin-Suhler Waffenwerke (BSW) in Suhl, Germany during the 1930s, the W625C was a progression of the W625 series and is one of the more scarce and collectible variants.
The 1st variation W625C retained many features of earlier W625A and B models but often included improvements such as finer machining, upgraded sight configurations, and stock design adjustments. Like its predecessors, it was built to replicate the handling and feel of a military Mauser rifle, making it ideal for use in youth marksmanship training and Nazi paramilitary programs.
This rifle features a full-length hardwood stock, Mauser-style bolt, and adjustable iron sights. Some examples may bear Nazi-era eagle proofs or cartouches, especially on the receiver or barrel. Its solid construction and historical relevance make it a standout piece in any rimfire or WWII-era trainer collection.
A true collector’s item, the W625C (1st variation) represents a unique step in the evolution of German pre-war training rifles.
